TOP 5 THINGS TO DO WHEN BORED

By: Habiba Tamer

Took your vacation? Nothing to do? Sitting on your bed playing games? Bored? Don’t want to hang out? Okay, all of us face these questions and we get no answer neither a solution. Bored in your vacation doing nothing just at home sleeping, eating, playing games, you made it your routine? No you should stop this routine. I know that boredom kills, don’t worry I got your back, with top 5 things to do when you’re bored. Don’t worry they’re worth it.

1) Painting

Actually if you’re bored you should try something new not something that you usually do. So the first thing we got here is painting. For me, I usually paint when I am bored at home or even outdoors as it is one of my favorite hobbies. You can try painting it’s really fun, and if you can’t paint or draw well you can try any simple thing or even search on the internet. It will really help you waste a hell lot of time and you won’t be bored.

2) Watch YouTube Videos

The second thing you can do is watch funny youtube videos. You can watch some videos of Mohamed Tarek as he really makes me laugh so hard till my stomach hurts. Actually he is really funny and I like his videos, and I really recommend you to watch his videos when you’re bored. Because why not, why not have fun and be happy. Watch his videos you won’t regret it.

3) Dance!

The third thing you can do is dance like there is no tomorrow. Dance even if you can’t do any good moves, and just let the music you love move you, don’t let your body control the dancing moves, let the music do and move your body as it goes. You should be happy and having fun unlike when you’re looking through your phone scrolling through your Instagram or Facebook feed. Do something fun and unique that makes you happy and free. Who cares just dance and let the music set you free.

4) Try a New Hobby

The fourth thing we got is trying a new hobby. Why not try something new or different; break your routine up and do something new and keep going till you reach what you want. Don’t stick in your place just do something unique and different. Think, learn, develop, play, work, do something you love that lets you be different than others.

5) Connect with Someone from your Past

The fifth and the last thing is connecting with someone from your past. Search for your childhood friends who went to other schools or even went to live in other countries. Find them, call them or even chat. Meet and connect with them. Also don’t search for your friends only search in your family tree, meet and connect like the old days. Never lose the chance to meet someone you have known in the past, they really let you remember the good old days and how they were going.

Now you got all the tips and tricks, still bored? Do something as I told you and remember be happy and have fun. Hope you enjoyed the article and make something different and new.

Breaking Up has Effects on Both Sides of the Relationship

By: Malak el-Mansy

Breaking up sucks; if you looked around you will probably find that no one breaks up face to face it’s almost always by text. It’s really inevitable, the effect on him is totally different than the effect on her but they both pass through the same shit stages.

Oh you know that period of time before one of them decideto break up. That time that coldness that’s everywhere, it is when you know that it’s over. Eventhough you think it’s over there is still this spark of hope that you might get back. When a person inside you tells you that it will end soon but you keep saying “no, it won’t end, it can’t end I know” and that time is the stage called the LYING TO YOURSELF BECAUSE OF LOVE stage. It’s when you are freaking out and afraid.

So, when the breakup has been decided she will begin crying like it’s raining, the memories will run in front of her like a sad movie, his cute words will make an echo inside her ears, his unbreakable promises will suddenly break, his way of looking to her will be seen all the time, the lovely parts in their chat will stick in her mind like a gum that sticks on her hair. While she is going through her unforgettable memories with him. He will be out there with his friends. He thinks that he finally lost something that made him stressed out. Now he’ll go search for comfort and of course happiness. That’s why we notice that most guys start talking to new people, and especially girls after a breakup.

When he tries to show off infront of his ex-girlfriend on social media, she will go crazy. She will see him going out and having fun; thinking he already moved on while she is in bed wiping her tears. In that moment she will think that everything that happened was unreal and it was a terrible nightmare and she might even think he still wants her and they will be back soon, so she waits for a simple message from him but he will never text her back. He is with friends showing that he doesn’t even care, which may not be true.

With all of this, there is a time when she will be happy again and grow calm. She will start thinking “did he even care?? did he even love me?? Did he care???? HE LEFT ME!!” In that time he will be there realizing what he lost, stalking her will be routine to him, remembering the small things he used to love from her will hit him very hard, he will finally realize he made a mistake of letting her go- the one who helped him through all.

After a long long time she will realize that she has to move on. She will start to love herself and take care of herself more. One morning she will wake up not missing him. She will regret saying that she won’t be able to move on and she will find that she can.

And in this last stage he will be missing her, her love, her voice, her smile, her idiotic way of talking, her special crazy words, her scent, her care, her everything and how she uniquely helped him in all. He will want his love of his life back but for him it won’t last long.

In the end, it’s not the end of the world. Despite the healing that will take time both of them will get over it.

Struggles you Face on your First Time at the Gym

By: Nourhan Ghanem

It’s summer and chances are you’ve been to the gym lately to get that summer body to look good flaunting on the beach on your instagram stories ( yes I’m salty ) . And since my relationship with the gym is like your relationship with that uncle that lives in Canada and comes to visit once every few years , me being the uncle of course , so I do keep repeating this experience with every time carrying more anxiety and self consciousness than before. So grab your popcorn and “healthy snacks” and get ready to relate and recall some memories!

1 – A Whole New World

Queue the Aladdin soundtrack . On your first day at the gym you’re gonna spend your time exploring with the innocence of a newborn, in a room full of people who seem to know what they’re doing and you my dear batee5a , you know nothing. You’re surrounded by machines that look like they’re torture machines from the 1700s and you my dear batee5a are to discover not only what each of them does, but also how to properly use them so a little tip get a personal trainer, at least on your first day just to save you time and to avoid injury and don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it .

2 – The Stares

Now I don’t know if it’s just me , but on my first day at the gym my self conscious was a hard 0 ( like every day in my life ), so I kept feeling judged whenever someone simply gazed in my direction, it felt like they were looking at my soul. But now that I think of it they were probably just daydreaming about how they wanted to dig into that pizza, hot with the cheese all stringy and warm crust …. I’ll just stop here.

3 – Ouch

Nothing plants the first day at a gym in your brain like the soreness you get after the first time….. at the gym of course ya nasties. You probably work out shouting  no pain no gain while lifting a 25 kg dumbbells in each hand or squatting with 50 kilos not knowing that the next day you’ll probably be pinned to your bed by enormous muscle soreness and if you’re lucky and you can get up you probably will walk around all day like your water broke and you’re in labor.

4 – The Loop

I believe the only time you feel aware of how truly long a minute is, is when you’re doing a plank or one minute mountain climbers, or just thought it would be a good idea to run on the treadmill. Because it goes from a minute at the gym to a hell loop where you’re stuck running on the treadmill for 10 minuets on speed 11 just because you wanted to go higher than the person on the treadmill beside you. Like you’re gonna be extremely sweaty feeling like you did the work out of your life and it’s been so long since I’ve seen people that aren’t in a state of sweat and eternal suffering and look to the clock and it’s only been 10 minuets and you’re just being over dramatic.

5 – Dealing With Rule Breakers

Now upon visiting the gym, you should know that there are unwritten rules to the gym that you should follow and like all rules some are bound to be broken by uncivilized people, so I would like to clear up some of these rules because you don’t want to be the gym douche. So first of all DO NOT hog machines like at all, and place the weights back after you’re done. Second, there is this wonderful invention called the deo-der-ent , simply wash your under arms and apply it , not the other way around , it saves us the nasal damage from the smell of your pungent sweat , another sweat related rule would be to clean up your sweat from machines it’s disgusting. And finally DO NOT TALK to anyone while they are doing some sets or with headphones on. This isn’t much of a struggle like the rest but it helps not make people fantasize about shoving the weights down your throat!

Aside from all that going to the gym is a great step to get to a healthier self and body and you should be proud but please for the love of god don’t be a stupid batee5a and get a trainer to instruct you and follow tgeneration2020 on instagram to get updated when a new part of this series called life struggles is published cause you know , isn’t life just one big struggle ?

Flash Tips: 10 Tips to Help you Become More Optimistic

By: Ibrahem Warda

Achieving happiness isn’t easy oneself can suffer from lack of success, pessimism and losing hope before being optimistic. Being optimistic doesn’t mean that life is going to be heavenly beautiful and there won’t be any dark sides in us.

Each and every one of us have their bad days, days where you feel sad and pessimistic.

So now I am going to tell you 10 tips to help you make it through the night, and begin your new day with satisfaction and enthusiasm!

1- Be realistic, accept the fact that you’re a pessimist and you need to turn the happiness gauge bit higher.

2- Workout at least twice a week. If you’re satisfied with your body you can start building self-confidence slowly.

3- Dress better. Give yourself time to choose your outfit, make it speak for you.

And when it speaks it tells people “I am a confident person and I’m not afraid, you’re not scary, I rule my own world, and I am happy too!”

4- Eliminate pessimism from your life. Stay away from toxic friends holding you and your happiness back.

5- Give yourself a break by doing something that gives you a kick, makes you feel extra happy when you are sad, it can be food, favorite movie or TV program it could be anything, it all depends on you.

6- Listen to music. Music is the fruit of the soul. I usually use music as a defense mechanism against depression, and it works.

7- Surround yourself with people who support you, people who tell you that you’re elegant, because I am sure you all are.

8- Write happy things that occurred during the day and read it before sleeping.

9- A person with a goal is a happy one. You should make a list of small goals to reach every day, and make it manageable.

10- Always ask yourself where are you going to be in ten years, what are you going to accomplish.

In the end, everyone has letdowns and everyone gets hurt. Being optimistic helps you stand on your feet every time life knocks you down.

“An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.” – Winston Churchill

“We all deal with being unfairly judged” ~Vin Diesel

By: Malak Negm

I personally believe that there is no one who hasn’t judged others, and for those who say that they don’t judge others- they are big liars. We all judge and despite how sad this truth is. We can help make it better. And I hope you know how to help by the end of this article!

Human beings are capable of making mistakes. But when it comes to public figures, we all lie in bed acting as judge juries criticizing, bullying and offending them. And even if they don’t make mistakes, we just take them for granted and take ourselves too.

And that’s why I brought to you these public figures who got bullied, judged and insulted by us (and by saying us I refer to us as Egyptians):

1. Dina El Sherbiny

This beautiful young woman attended “El Gouna Film Festival”. Most opinions on the black dress she wore to the festival were not too agreeable when it came to fashion experts. But the situation got out of hand when it came to people on social media. The energetic woman received aggressive messages, judgments and bullying. Not only criticizing her fashion taste, but making fun of how she looks and how her husband “Amr Diab” chose to marry her. Quite rude right?

2. Magi Salah (Mo Salah’s Wife)

Salah met his wife Magi at school when the pair lived in an Egyptian village. She’s a normal Egyptian woman who got married to a man before he became a celebrity. Despite how humble she always appears, she got judged too as Dina. And people took this as an excuse to directly criticize what she wears. And we should NEVER give valid excuses for bullies to offend her by criticizing what she wears or judging her by how she chooses to appear.

3. Rania Youssef

Briefly she’s a mature 45 year old woman who wore a dress that she picked herself in Cairo Film Festival that people found so provocative and inappropriate. People started criticizing how revealing the dress was (which was kind of acceptable). But explaining what had happened afterwards is unnecessary because we all witnessed how offended and insulted she got on social media and television programs and how people pictured and judged her as a whore for wearing such a dress. But because “the dress was so revealing” is never an excuse for hurting or offending anyone.

Unfortunately, we don’t only choose to judge and offend public figures, we choose to hurt each other’s feelings too.

4. Menna Gobran

We all remember this girl who posted the video captioned “Fel tagamo3 w beyhsal kda?” The girl posted this video expressing how frustrated she was for being harassed. Few hours later, she found herself mocked and judged mercilessly. People pictured her online as an attention seeker. And finally she was forced to delete her Facebook account because of how unfair we people are.

These were not the only victims in our miserable society. And despite the fact that we have no right to judge anyone, guess what? Judging is a human nature. And the real issue is in how we build false assumptions. So at least we can try to be kinder, fairer and more merciful judges.

Media Exposed

By: Jumana Nounou

It’s the twenty first century. We are all still mourning Tony Stark’s death. We are all wondering why Jaime and Cersei died. We probably all wanted Jon Snow to take the iron throne. It’s all unfortunate but I now have your attention.

There’s this thing in neurology science (the study of the nervous system) which is called the alpha state and the beta state. Alpha state happens when you’re using media. In this state, you only focus on what’s happening on the screen. You can be convinced with anything even if it’s not logical. Beta is the normal state. It’s the state where you can think logically and analyze everything. This is all nice but that’s not what I want to talk about.

Centuries ago, if you wanted to control someone, a group of people or a country, you would just use force and war. But now, things have changed a bit. If you want to control someone, you could just control their minds. This would guarantee you a lot of things because media doesn’t just control you it plants the idea inside your head. Furthermore, another issue we are facing are the ones who control the media. Propaganda makers. Propaganda is an extremely dangerous weapon and I will start briefing you on it.

The use of propaganda started it in the 19th century, but its impact appeared during World War II by Hitler and Joseph Goebbels. They succeeded in convincing a whole lot of people to enter the war and fight even though it might have been the wrong thing to do. It is usually controlled by politicians, big money owners, the rich and governments. See, they feed you with whatever distracts you from doing anything important. If you want to plant a new idea, your screen is their door. If they want to cover up for any scandal, they produce a distraction ‘alpha mode’.

Moreover, these past few years in Egypt, we have seen things happen on TV series. Encouragements to commit stuff that are not going to benefit anyone. Obviously media is supposed to be the mirror of the society yet it creates a false image of it. They normalize stuff that are not be normalized. Media should be our wake up call for the negativity our society believes in yet it encourages things that its harms would be more than its benefits.

In addition to that, TV shows in Egypt are a plain disaster, dipped in compromising and sprinkled with lies. There’s this thing I find really lame. It’s when the officials or people who own the media are ordered a specific topic. literally all the TV shows discuss it the same way whether it’s political, social or economical. They want to convince you with something. They built up this picture where you think you have the freedom to do whatever you desire but in fact they want you to do the wrong thing.

Besides, if you haven’t noticed, most of the religious people in media are brought up as bad people and extremists. And that, my friend, gives you this bad conscious about religious people. When you deal with them in real life you judge them based on what you have seen on TV even though it’s not true.

Sometimes media uses scandals as a cover-up for something that has happened or something that will happen. Again , a distraction. Additionally, media is used as a way to plunge in new corrupted ideas. Ideas that will mess with your identity. I mean we all want to know who will win the bachelor’s heart but we don’t really care about the 1 million and 250,000 human beings who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, right?

Without a doubt their greatest weapon is repetition. False news? repeat. corrupted ideas? repeat. Rumors? Horrible media coverage repeat. Technically speaking, media coverage is always bad. They never get the whole image of an incident. It always counts on the interests. Think about the media coverage that took place when a part of the Notre Dame caught fire and the media coverage we receive on what’s happening in Sudan and Algeria.

Based on a survey made on a group of people. 65% of them believe the news if they see it more than four times. I call this a disaster. You are bound to believe something if you see it repeatedly more than four times.

In this case, you can avoid the issue by checking the information you receive. But based on another survey 52% of people don’t know the resource of their resources so please, please check your resource.

There’s this quote that I find so relevant ; “The real danger is that if we hear enough lies that we no longer recognize the truth at all”.

Previously , I said that the media is controlled by big money owners and rich. Most of them, maybe all of them are zionists. What is zionism and who are those zionists? They are the ones terrorizing Palestine at the moment. They are the ones controlling the media in the whole world. United States alongside the Jews create either false news or events in the name of Islam to spread something called Islamophobia. Which now a lot of people use as an excuse to perform terrible acts like the previous one in New Zealand.

Ever wondered why most of America supports Israel? The answer is ‘media’. Over the years they planted the idea of how Israel wants peace and that whatever it is happening in Palestine is the Palestinians fault, accusing the Palestinian resistance of terrorism. They focus the camera on the people who spread false images about islam, the ones who have it all wrong. I mean a bombing in two towers is a terror act but blowing up two entire cities with their men, women, children and elders isn’t. (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) (200,000 got killed).

Last but not least, only trust the ones who tell the truth. Open your mind and think, don’t just believe. Don’t believe everything your family says simply because they are family. People can be wrong sometimes. Don’t just stop at the headlines, read through and again use your mind, analyze . Remember, whoever controls the media, is trying to control you. So please try not to be controlled. You are your own self. Know your identity and know where you stand. And finally, think prospectively.

Tips for the Summer

By: Youssef Tawfik

Don’t take it for granted, but it will help you loads. It will help you have less sun burns, and we all know the hassle of having sun burns. Buy a good one with a high SPF number. As it has higher protection from the sun, if it has a high SPF number.

Extra tip: Do you even know what SPF is, or do you just check the number written next to it. SPF stands for ‘Sun Protection Factor’ which measures how well a sunscreen protects your skin from sun rays (UV rays).

2) Shop if you don’t have SUMMER clothes

Now, if you do not have summer clothes for whatever reason then you need to go one day and shop for some. Like these ones: shorts, t-shirts, swim trunks, flip flops, and all these nice summer clothes. Nice shops to buy from are Hollister, H & M, Abercrombie and Fitch, Zara, American Eagle, Celio, and there are many other nice shops. Go there and buy clothes.

3) Make sure your AC is working!

If you’re not sure if your AC is working, then make sure all the ACs in the house work. You will need them, especially if you get hot easily. As it seems that this year the weather will be very hot, compared to other years. As temperatures in some countries around the world are all rising to temperatures never documented before.

There are portable air conditioners which aren’t as expensive as the ones at home.

What a Weird Generation?!

By: Malak el-Mansy

When we say weird, it doesn’t have to be meant in a bad or wrong way, absolutely not. I think we all notice that we live in an absolute different generation which of course has its pros and cons, but also its pros and cons are totally unique!

When we look at teenagers these days we will find how they are acting weird and living the age of big ones…of course not all of them. We are going through really hard things that adults are supposed to go through not us, we are going through really shitty things that make us live a fake age while we are TEENAGERS. We see every horrible thing in our life and never look for the good ones. Most teens these days are obsessed with specific few things…like what should I wear, what do I have to do to attract people and this thing is probably for girls but now it has been for boys too! And the bad thing is we are doing it in a terrible way. Like people do things to be called “shabah”, go in relationships and teens shouldn’t be single cause they think that being single is a shame or something, outgoings in a weird way and you understand why it’s weird, traveling, and posting the fantastic picture, how much likes and comments you get, posting stories and especially to show what they feel to their EX…there is no one focusing on their future career or their present studying and success or their relation with friends or visiting relatives or sitting with family. And all of these are the factors that make us a weird generation.

We are asking for everything to be alright, perfect and well done while we are very far from the one who can always help…ALLAH, there are very few people these days who’re close to Allah and living peacefully. We are forgetting the one who is the only one who can help, love, listen, forgive, take, give , solve and complicate…we aren’t looking forward we are getting destroyed from things we are seeing. Unfortunately, we are forgetting the gifts we own, when we are depressed it’s almost about a thing that is very small. We see people who are better than us and not seeing that we are much better from a lot of people…why??? Why don’t we live happy, why don’t we believe in ourselves, why don’t we trust god and have faith in him, why don’t we love truly, why do we cheat, why do we disappoint each other, why don’t we be a trustworthy generation, why don’t we try and fail and try over and over again until we succeed, why aren’t we running after our dreams until we reach it, why do we get depressed so easily while we own everything.

Everything? Yeah, we have the most technological generation, we have plenty of different friends which we can gain experiences from, we have the variety of activities and crazy things to do, we have a lot of options in everything, we have hearts and brains to help us, we have talents to discover and the factors are available in this unique time of life, we have everything but we aren’t noticing that and not living the beautiful age we are in. If we are honest with ourselves before we are with people, if we love ourselves before loving people, if we are positive, if we accept and if we look to the world brightly it will shine in your eyes and you will live extremely happy.

We have to do what we love to do it superbly and maintain happiness. We don’t have to close all the doors but we have to open and enter all of them. We own the chance to solve things and making our lives better.

How to be Healthy BOTH Physically & Mentally

By: Nourhan Ghanem

Mentally

1- Take a break

Take a day every week to just relax , a ME day as I like to call it , listen to music , draw or take a warm bath , take up a hobby , binge watch a show , watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S like the other 7 billion people do when they’re looking for entertainment  , maybe turn up the music and dance like nobody’s watching ( hopefully ) , whatever really suits you .

2- Talk about your feelings

DO NOT keep emotions locked up I repeat DO NOT keep emotions locked up , they will only build up and turn into other emotions and you’ll end up crying because the waiter forgot to add the extra ketchup you asked for with your fries . Find a person to talk to about how you feel whether it’s a friend , parent or family member.

3- Keep yourself busy

Do not just sit down and do nothing , practice a sport , take up a hobby , read , dance , call a friend . The more time you spend doing nothing the more your brain is gonna recall that time in 8th grade when you tripped in front of your crush or the time the waiter looked at you weird because you stuttered while making your order . Do not allow yourself to give in to self destructive thoughts and keep yourself busy .

Physically

1- Water , water , water & more water

I cannot stress how great water is for your body , it’s great if your trying to lose weight , clear up your skin , and avoiding other people’s drama because you’ll be too busy peeing.

2- Exercise

Now I’m not the biggest fan of the gym , but exercise doesn’t have to be 3 hours on a treadmill crying away the calories , there are alternatives , for example : you can take a walk everyday and get some fresh air , take a dance class , stop taking the elevator or just play a sport . It’s obviously very beneficial for your entire body plus it’s gonna give you the confidence you’ve been faking for the past 5 years of your miserable life .

3- Get enough sleep

Unless you want to be walking around like one of the undead , GET AT LEAST 8 HOURS OF SLEEP ! It helps decrease the risk of many diseases and helps maintain your immune system , plus you won’t be walking around looking like a raccoon all day .

4 – Change up your diet

And no no it doesn’t mean to spend the rest of your life eating like a cow ( which come to think of it is pretty damn healthy ) I’m also not saying to restrict yourself to salads and leafy greens and becoming a grass eater , but maybe switch up your Big Mac for a less greasy alternative every once in a while . It’ll help you lose weight , prevent diseases and your organs will thank you for it .
